| Bio: | I hope I don't hit the character-limit; I keep doing that elsewhere... I had a strange thing pointed out to me recently, and there appears to be a wide-ranging community that supports this oddity of mine. So, now I'm seeking them out. Furries, one and all, at all levels of accomplishment and knowledge- I seek your wisdom. Or at least your comments to an ignorant, but interested critter who's always been dragon-crazy. I rant, I joke, I attempt writing fiction (not all of it good), and my journal will be a fairly random collection of my mood of the day, things that peeve me, things that make me giggle, and things that, um, turn me on, if that sort of shenanigans are allowed here. I'm curious; who actually READS this stuff? Anyway, I'm learning as I go, so fancy shite like pictures and playing with the colour-settings (if any) will come along soon enough- I'm very ignorant of this medium and it's capabilities, so please, I crave your patience. I'm looking forward to posting some artwork- I understand this is a favourite thing with many... Maybe someone can help this newbie create an avatar. I'm strange, sometimes humourous (though today I'm not), grumpy, giggly, rarely ditzy (and if I am- blame lack of sleep and high doses of painkillers). I'm creative; I paint, draw, design clothing (costumes, fashion and fetish stuff), jewelry, and occasionally try to write (though not enough of the latter, lately). People have paused to watch when I bent over to smell flowers, even weeds. Maybe they were just enjoying my butt. I laugh at odd things- I laugh LOUD at odd things... Life is funny, when it isn't being tragic. If 'hippy-goth' is a category in the goth crowd, then that's me. Though I suppose 'fairy-goth' comes close, even if I'm not into glitter. I have my darker, nihilistic moods, when it's full vampire drag for me- maybe even dedchik, with the white makeup and hollow eyes. Bones fascinate me- I find them so pretty. Birds, predators, human, it doesn't matter. Replicas can be very cool, especially for species that would be illegal to have portions of, or that don't exist; human, gorilla, lion, Komodo dragon, alien, werewolf, dragon, vampire. My collection is small, at the moment; I have only a deer (female), a snowy owl and a raven's skull. I like my music loud, throbbing, and bizarrly bouncing, like the stuff that Cradle of Filth puts out. Goa kicks ass, as does psy-trance. Other times, depending upon my mood, I'll fill my head with the stranger melodies of Balinese Gamelan and Ketchak. I guess you could say I'll listen to pretty much anything, except country, soul or rap, but even those forms have a piece or two I like. I'm Wiccan, with strong leanings toward the religion of my ancestors- the Innu ones. I consider myself to be an animistic, totemistic, earth-centred, earth-loving, Elder-respecting traveler on the Red Road. The tree keeps calling me- I should really learn what I need to know so I can get invited to a Sun-dance... The university course earned me a certificate in Apparel Design. Now I can draft the patterns for the clothing I love so much. I can go from a simple drawing or photograph, work out how the garment is put together, and draft the pattern to an individual's own measurements. And now, I'm going to use my new-found powers for EEEVIL! Ok, I'm building a dragon-suit... (snicker) >^_^< Music is a strong interest of mine; I've been a drummer for over fifteen years (I'm pretty mean on the bodhran and congas). I sing passably well, and make occasional forays into computer technology to create electronica for my amusement. Few others have heard my efforts, and I doubt many will, unless I get good in an amazingly short time. :p When I'm not designing clothing, I'm making jewelry. When I'm not doing that, I'm working on the two novels and several short-stories I've got going. And when nothing else is interesting me, for whatever reason, you can find me in the yard, working on my garden. Mostly, I weed. Sometimes, I dance, just 'cuz. | |||||
